Jeanette (Fralick) Hill

April 23, 2017

Jeanette Hill, 87, passed peacefully at home, surrounded with love, on Sunday afternoon. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, Jennie attended North High and upon graduation worked for Great American Insurance Company for 25 years, then owned and operated Creative Concepts Printing with her husband and daughter. Jennie was a long-time member of Syracuse Turners, the Arion Stein Club, and the German-American Society of CNY. She was an avid reader, bowler, and champion horseshoe pitcher having competed in two World Horseshoe Pitching Tournaments. Jennie was also a twelve-time New York State Senior Champion in horseshoes, and won a Gold and Bronze medal in the Senior Olympics held in Pittsburgh and Baton Rouge, respectively. She was most proud, though, of her family and friends. To know Jennie was to love her, and to be known by Jennie was to be loved by her.

Jennie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, J. Edward Hill; her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Tim Frazee; her greatest gifts, grandchildren Emily and Matthew Frazee; and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the Youngs and Keeffes, the Wright family and Amber Zimmer, and all who showed their love and kindness throughout Jennie’s life.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Gang Memorial Chapel, 104 Fordham Road, Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 28th, at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Church, 406 Court Street, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities at Franciscan Villa, 6900 Buckley Road, Syracuse, NY 13212; or HumaneCNY, 4915 West Taft Road, Liverpool, NY 13088.

Hi Ed:
So sorry to hear of your wife's passing. It has been a long, long time since I have seen you and hope that you are well. My wife Lorie passed in 2004 and I remarried. Lorie and I lived her last 20 years in Orlando where I sold printing for that 20 years. My current wife and I live in Ft. Smith, AR the last 12 years. She is 83 and I will be 86 in June. The Lord has blessed us both with good health. I volunteer in our elementary schools here, reading weekly to kindergartens and with the help of my Kiwanis club helped 6th graders produce 4 page school newsletters. Guess keeping busy, keeps us moving.
When you get a chance email me and let me know how you and the family are. If I remember right you had a daughter.
God Bless
Dick Taylor

Dear Katie and Ed, My heartfelt condolence on the passing of Jeanette. So many memories go through my head when I think of her. I am sure she is up there in her grease dress frying something up for everyone (like Bologna or breaded cucumbers) having a couple of martinis and showing people how to pitch a horseshoe. We all had wonderful times up at Lake Kashwakamak with the Judge, Dorothy and all the rotten kids (yes you were one of them Katie) What I remember most about Jeanette is her very big heart and unfailing kindness to one and all. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Marlene

"Uncle Ed" & Family
I just heard of Jen's passing via a note from my lifetime friend, your nephew & cousin, Jerry. We are soon to be back from Florida, too late to attend services. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Since we reconnected at Rita's graveside service at Assumption, a flood of memories returned from my childhood. She was a special, loving woman, and I will always remember her with love and affection. Now she has been given a well deserved rest, received into God's loving arms for eternity. We will all see her again.
