Mary Pat Grabowski Byrnes
December 17, 2016
Mary Pat ('MP') Grabowski Byrnes died on December 17, 2016 at the age of 49. Mary Pat grew up in Syracuse, New York and attended Marist College. Spending six years living in Denver, CO she returned to Syracuse to be closer to family. She met her husband, picked up the game of golf and never stopped playing. Mary Pat loved the early morning Saturday visits to the market, loved cooking, baking and bragging about baking, even more; especially to her not so gifted siblings.
She will be forever missed by her husband, Jack; parents, Howard and Patricia (Gass) Grabowski; sisters, Kathleen (MacLaren) Richards and Shelly Irene Grabowski; nieces, Remy Ann and MacLaren Ann; nephew and godson, Braeden William Smith as well as a wonderful number of very special aunts, uncles and cousins. MP will be especially missed by her four furry kitten friends, who already know they're missing their "mama mitten".
Friends and family are welcome to call on Tuesday From 4-7pm at Gang Memorial Chapel. A Mass will be held on Wednesday at 9:30am at the Transfiguration Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking you to spend and enjoy the day with a loved one.

I extend my condolences to the families of Jack & Mary Pat. She will be missed. I suffer the loss of a close friend and a person who never once shared a bad day or grumbled about much if ever. Every time I would see her she was upbeat and happy with a hug or a great story. There are not enough of these people in the world and that is why her loss is so dear. What I wouldn't do to play one more par 5 with this special, special girl... May you rest in peace MP.

MP was a beautiful person, inside and out. She made me smile everyday in the office. I will always remember how kind she was. She would take my plant home every summer and replant it and give it fresh soil. She always brought my raggedy looking plant back to life. She was always there with a smile and a hug, if you needed it.
I will miss you MP. Thank you for being you.

Jack and family,
I was so sorry to read today about MP's passing! She was a good friend. We had so much fun working together at Vinnie's Restaurant as the chest and vest show! Lots of laughs and good times that I will cherish always. And with mom and dad having lunch at Weber's on the north side with me behind the strip. A pleasure to serve.
May she rest in peace always.

Pat (and family),
I just learned of Mary Pat's passing, and my heart is broken. I think of her often, and the last time I saw her, ironically, was at the Farmer's Market (with you, I believe). Her family at Bond, Schoeneck & King will truly miss her. She made the Word Processing Department a "lively" place to work, for lack of a better word. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

"A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me, remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life lived while I was strong"
I am deeply sorry for your loss. Mary Pat was a special soul; she brightened many lives in the short time she was here. I picture her smiling and holding Sophie telling us everything will be okay.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Mary Pat's family and friends. I am deeply sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Mary Pat and I began as friends in High School...She was at TFA and I was at CBA. We later discovered we were distant cousins sharing the same great-great-great grandparents. Her smile and laugh were infectious. She was impulsive, spontaneous and always the life of the party. She touched and enriched every life she touched.

Mary Pat was so kind to my son Walker when he was just a college kid working a Summer job at the old Ground Round in Dewitt. She taught him everything he needed to know about running the Bar and thanks to her oversight and guidance earned enough money to buy all of his books for his Junior year. She was an amazingly vibrant women who loved life.
My condolences for all who loved her.

My deepest sympathy to all. The first time I met MP was at a golf course. The rest was history. We shared a passion for golf and our friendship grew stronger over the years. We played together, vacationed together, spent much of our time just hanging out at the pool and enjoying one another's company. She got to know my entire family and they loved her as well. Being 15 years her senior I told her she was the little sister I never had and from that point on when we spoke over the phone or through an e-mail we would address each other as "sister". We had so much fun over the years, she was a beautiful, kind person who was loved by so many. I was truly blessed to have her in my life and will miss her greatly. I know one day we shall meet again. God Bless
