Robert S. Huff
August 24, 2015
Robert S. Huff, 76, of Syracuse lost his life to cancer on Monday surrounded by his family. He was born in Evansville, Indiana. He was the son of the late Marion Huff and Beatrice Huff-Mettle and Stepfather George Mettle. Bob worked in his family electronics business before entering the US Air Force, followed by employment at Syracuse Vending and Stanton Automatics. “If it took a coin, Bob could fix it.”
Bob was a member of the James Street Methodist Church, Trustee and Board Chairman, and music narrator. His rich baritone voice was appreciated by the entire congregation. His interests included golf, cooking and home repair for the entire family. Bob and his wife, enjoyed spending their winters in Bonita Springs, FL. His generous spirit and enthusiasm for sharing was spread throughout the family. His grandchildren especially loved playing board games with “Papa”. Bob’s passing is an enormous loss for all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, former Laurel Wilcox, a son Craig Huff, a daughter Mindi (Dr. Samuel) Tripp, grandchildren Robby, Dylan, Sophia, and Sammy, in-laws Linda O’Neill, Jean Westfall, Roger (Linda) Wilcox, Larry (Betty) Wilcox, and several nieces and nephews.
Services 10:00 am Saturday at Gang Memorial Chapel. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are
Friday 4 -7 pm at the funeral home, 104 Fordham Rd at Teall Avenue.

Our heart and prayers go out to the family. Robert seems to have been an especially wonderful being. I know there is nothing I can say or write that can take the pain away, just know that we are here for you, Mindi and Sam and can take the kids or drop by food at any time in the next few weeks to help you through this. I can't imagine what your family is going through right now. My hope is that you will find peace in the wonderful memories of "papa". Much Love, Sylvia, Steve, Andreah and Michael.
