"Waldemar Koschel, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Neufredental Kreis Odessa. Ukraine and immigrated to Syracuse in 1955 from Braunschweig, Germany. He was proud to call America his home and cherished the freedom it stood for. He was a bricklayer in Germany before coming to Syracuse where he worked for Tip Top Bakery 13 years and later retiring from Young & Franklin Tool Works after 22 years of service. He was a member of Pitcher Hill Church, German War Veterans and a life member of the German American Society of CNY.
