It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of Life Member Gary Smoot, Sr.

Mr. Gary, as he was known, joined the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company in January of 1960.  He spent many days and nights at the station over the years, bringing his wife, Joyce, and two sons, Gary, Jr., and Patrick along as well.  Mr. Gary served many positions within the company over his 58 years with the firehouse, which also included actually building Fire Trucks.

Aside from his involvement at the Beach13house Mr. Gary retired from the Baltimore City Fire Department, and Owned  Smoot Hauling with his family.

Please keep his family, friends, and Fire Department families, in your thoughts and prayers.

Rest easy, Mr. Gary, we'll take it from here.
