Lawrence J. Schillenberg, Jr., “Hondo” age 61, a lifetime resident of Pasadena, passed away on May 22, 2018.

He was born on June 15, 1956, in Baltimore, to Lawrence Schillenberg, Sr. and the late Ellen Schillenberg. Larry spent his whole life in Pasadena. He went to school at Anne Arundel Community College and University of Maryland Baltimore campus receiving a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He worked for the State of Maryland for over 30 years. He worked in Annapolis for the Comptroller’s Office and he worked for the Department of Transportation. He grew up playing baseball and loved playing for Northeast High School with Coach Lentz and through college. He shut out a whole game with no hits. He also played on the men’s local adult league. He took Chesapeake High School as Head Coach to the state championships. He also helped with fundraising efforts for the North East Baseball Program. He was an associate scout for the Orioles for a time. He loved the Orioles and was still sad about the Colts leaving. He loved to hunt goose and duck, fish and target shoot. He was an avid golfer playing in local tournaments, a league on the Eastern Shore, and any chance he could get to hit a bucket of balls. Larry struggled with illness the past few years and complications of diabetes. He was a devoted family man and loved to be at home and go to family gatherings. He was always there for us and will be dearly missed.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years: Denise G. Crane; his devoted son Bill Schillenberg; his loving father Lawrence Schillenberg, Sr., and his dear sister Cathy Lane and family.

Family requests friends visit the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. His funeral service will begin at 6:30 PM, during the evening visitation hours. Feel free to leave your condolences below.
