William H. Ogilvie, “Pop” age 90, a resident of Glen Burnie for 8 years, passed away at Hospice of the Chesapeake on May 10, 2018, after an eight month illness.

He was born on September 3, 1927, in Cumberland, to the late Mary Elizabeth and David Thane Ogilvie. After graduating from Allegany High School, he entered the US Army, serving as a Corporal in the European Theatre of Operations until March of 1947. After the military, he worked as a carpenter in heavy construction; most recently as a superintendent for the Ceco Steel Corporation. He was a lifetime member of the Mid Atlantic Carpenters Local 132, and during his free time he loved to hunt and fish, play golf, and take care of his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Pop is preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley Lee Ogilvie.

He is survived by his three devoted sons: Gregory, Kevin, and William T. Ogilvie; his loving daughter Debbie Ogilvie; his dear sister Sandy BiSheilds; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

His graveside service and interment, with military honors, will take place on Tuesday May 15, 2018, at 2 PM in Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Pop I know you'll never read this but I just want to write it anyway. I love you and I'm going to miss you. I knew you would have to go sometime but thought you would be around a couple more years. I thought of you as a dad and a friend. Until we meet in Heaven remember we talked and you said you would build my Heavenly mansion.
