Paula Montgomery Palmer Allen, age 70, a resident of Brooklyn Park for 20 years, passed on May 2, 2018.

She was born on January 13, 1948, in Baltimore, to the late Rose Marie and Paul Vernon Montgomery. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mom, and grandmom, and was an avid supporter of our active military and veterans; she attended many veteran related events and supported VFW Post 2678.

Her grandchildren, Doug and TJ, called her “ninja nana” and loved her dearly. She enjoyed attending her granddaughter Amber’s, fashion runway shows.  At night, her and her daughter Toni, enjoyed walking their dog Mugsey, and listening to and singing the songs from the Jersey Boys soundtrack. She loved dancing to every genre of music, passing her dancing skills down to her daughters Leah, Joanne and Toni. Late at night, she loved Facebook, gaming and private messaging everyone – her favorite thing to say was “go to bed” and “I love you to the moon and back.”  Our mom became everyone’s nana.  She gave many kids from the neighborhood a warm place to sleep, a hot meal and took them fishing. Even today, those neighborhood kids, now grown, bring their own kids to see nana.  Paula, Leah and George loved to go to the VFW to see friends and sing karaoke; some of mom’s favorite songs to sing were Stand By Your Man, Fever, Treat Me Right, and Personality.  “I believe everyone would agree that our mom Paula, had a wonderful personality and was a true firecracker.”

Along with her parents, Paula is preceded in death by her brother Ronnie Montgomery, her sister Rose Marie Montgomery, and her six aunts – the Lukenich Family.

She is survived by her three loving daughters and their families: Leah Mansfield (and her husband Rob) along with their children Amber and TJ Affeldt, all of Crofton; Toni Palmer (and Michael Babinec) along with son Douglas Palmer, (and Kirsten Groncki) of Baltimore; Joanne Mayer-Perri (and Kevin Clark) along with children Catherine Chrusch (and husband David), Dakota Christie, and A.J. Mayer-Perri, all of Scranton, Pennsylvania; Paula’s dear son James A. Storey, of England; her devoted life companion George Ferandes, of Baltimore; and seven great grandchildren.

Family requests friends visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 11 AM until 1 PM, at which time the funeral service will begin. Her burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park. So sad to hear of our dear neighbor's passing. We are out of town and unable to attend memorial services but we pray for Toni and the rest of the family that time and faith will eventually heal your pain. Please know that Paula is now pain free and is resting in the warmth and glory of the Lord.

Paula always looked out for my grandmother (Emma Bachman). They had a special relationship and Granny could always depend on her. I always appreciated that. Paula did the same for our Aunts. In their time of need, Paula was always there for them. It's the little things that matter & it didn't go unnoticed. Thank you Paula for doing what you did. You're a kind soul & you will be missed. May you RIP. Xoxoxo
