15 July 1944 – 16 April 2018

Robert Vlcej was called to our Father’s Kingdom to rejoin his loving wife on Monday morning.  He died peacefully in the care of Seasons Hospice after fighting extended illness.

Robert hailed from East Brunswick, New Jersey where he devoted himself to many others as a Vietnam Veteran, a loving husband, a father of two sons, a lay minister in the Trenton Cursillo, an ordained Deacon, and as an active parishioner at St Anne’s Parish in Keansburg, NJ.

In retirement, Robert and his wife Kathy relocated to Pasadena MD, where he enjoyed gardening and bird watching, boating and fishing, and the special time with his sons and grandchildren.  He continued in his faith and church ministries as a permanent Deacon at St Jane Frances de Chantal.

He is survived by siblings: Doris, Judy, Steven, George, James, and Debbie.  Also, by his loving sons Michael and Matthew, along with their wives Kristen and Ruby, and five granddaughters: Kayla, Alyssa and her husband Cory Fleming, Madison, Jordan, and Jenna.

Dear Sons of Robert and Kathy,

Both of your parents were especially dear to us as your mom served on the Cursillo in Christianing team when I first made my weekend. She was a special friend to me in so many ways and I often recall things she said and did as a shining example of a life well lived in The Lord.

Your Dad served us very faithfully as Deacon for our Cursillo Movement here in the Diocese of Trenton NJ and serving his fellow men and women on many teams and as a spiritual advisor. They were both dearly loved and will be sorely missed. Our prayer for you is that God will give you comfort in knowing what wonderful parents you had and now have in heaven.

with deepest sympathy

Dear Michael, Matthew, and family members,

We are so sorry to hear of my brother's passing. Although our families have separated and gone their own ways, it is still disheartening to hear of his passing. Always loved my brother and wish things could have been better, but that is in the past.

May God bless him and take him to a better place. We know that he and Kathy will be happily reunited in heaven.

And may God bless you and your families.
