Albert William Hartlove, Jr., age 70, a resident of Millersville for six years, and previously of Freeland, passed on February 8, 2018 after a three week illness.

He was born on September 22, 1947, in Baltimore, to Lillian and the late Albert W. Hartlove, Sr. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Corporal in Viet Nam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, and the Purple Heart. Upon his return from the war he continued his education at Catonsville Community College, where he attained his Associates Degree, and went on to work for the State of Maryland as a Veteran’s Representative. He had a love of theology and photography, and enjoyed watching his three grandsons compete in BMX, soccer, and lacrosse.

Along with his father, Al is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years: Betty Hartlove.

He is survived by his loving mom Lillian Ingram, of Millersville; his two devoted sons: Michael Joseph Hartlove, of Freeland, and Ryan Alexander Hartlove, of Catonsville; his sister Diane Miller, of Pasadena, his brother Earnest Anacker, Jr., also of Pasadena; and three grandsons: Nathan, William, and Connor Hartlove, all of Freeland, MD.

Family requests friends visit the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Tuesday February 20, 2018 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady of the Fields Church on Wednesday the 21st at 10 AM, with his burial to follow in Arlington National Cemetery on a later date. I am so sorry for your loss, although I have only know the family since October of 2017. I have grown very fond of Ms. Lil, Al and the rest of the family. Please accept my condolences.
