Helen Ruth Holub, age 92, a resident of Pasadena for 59 years, passed peacefully in her sleep at her home on February 16, 2017.

She was born on September 7, 1924, in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she attended Garfield High School, graduating in 1939. She worked as secretary for the Glen L. Martin Company from 1944 until 1955, and also volunteered with the Girl Scouts, serving as a District Commissioner. During her free time she loved travel, dancing, stage shows, and "one armed bandits".

Helen is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years: Edward Joseph Holub, who passed in 2015.

She is survived by her three sons: Edward Holub and his wife Charlene, Karl Holub and his wife Debbie, and Brian Holub and his wife Bette; her daughter Alicia Holub; five grandsons: Christopher and his wife Pam, Scott and his wife Meghan, Daniel, David, and Kyle; two granddaughters: Adria and Jennifer; and four great grandsons: Benjamin, R.J., Wesley, and Mason.

Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM, and Friday from 9 to 10 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday in St. Jane Frances Church, with her burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park. Ed and Char, you know that I share your sorrow right now. This has been a difficult 6 months and if I could take this last blow away from you I would. I never had the pleasure of meeting your mother, Ed. But looking at her sweet smile in the picture, and knowing you, I'm sure she was a lovely soul. Please know that I am thinking of you as you say goodbye to the woman who shaped your life. May that sweet smile always be with you.
