Mary Suzanne Sanford, age 78, a resident of Edgewood for three months and previously a 40 year resident of Pasadena, passed at her home on February 2, 2017 after a five year illness.

She was born on August 12, 1938, in Baltimore, to the late Margaret (nee Shryock) and Frank L. Mayronne. After graduating from Glen Burnie High School, she went to work for the National Security Agency from 1956 until 1961, and then as an electronics technician for the Westinghouse Company. She was a member of the Moose and the CPBA, and enjoyed her bowling and pool leagues, playing cards with friends, travelling, cruising, and of course, spending time with her family.

Along with her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years: Theodore B. Sanford, Jr.

She is survived by her devoted son Alvin "Eric" Zulka, Jr. and his wife Kimberly, of Edgewood, MD; two loving sisters: Rosemary Mayronne, of Athens, Ohio, and Michelle Bigley, of Red Lion, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Family requests friends visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, 21122 on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Her memorial service will begin at 1 PM on Saturday at the funeral home, with Rev. Doug Alberts officiating. Feel free to express your condolences below as well.

We were so sorry to hear of Sue's passing. Joe and I go way back with Sue and her Pool days. Our deepest sympathy to Ted, Eric and Family for their loss. You are in our prayers. Will see you Saturday.

I am a dear friend and like a sister to Sue for over 40yrs as I live in Florida now I came up for a visit to see Sue the week-end before she passed and I am so glad I did we talked and laughed for a few hours at least. I will never forget my special sister and devoted friend for as long as I live!
I LOVE YOU SUE AND AM GLAD YOUR ARE NOT IN ANYMORE PAIN. R.I.P.

We're so very sorry to hear of Mrs. Sue's passing. She was such a wonderful lady - we loved her very much! Eric, we're keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers. I hope you all find some comfort in thinking of Ted & your Mom back together again and watching over everyone.
