Hilda L. Turchetta died where she wanted to – at home - on Thursday, 23 June 2016, following a loving, virtuous life. She was 85 years old.  A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she centered her life on her family and her religion.  Quiet and unassuming, she was her family’s foundation.  Born on October 2, 1930 in Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of Frank and Mary Mittendorfer and sister to Agnes.  She moved to Pasadena, Maryland with her husband and two daughters in 1961 where she remained as a long time resident.  She loved taking care of her house and family.  She enjoyed cooking, Russell Stover chocolates, flowers, particularly spring magnolias, and her favorite color was blue.   She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Turchetta.  Hilda is survived by her eldest daughter, Kathy Brown of Pasadena and her youngest daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Dave Voigt of Millersville; and her five grandchildren, Eric and wife Amy, Justin, Adam Brown and Erin and Katie Voigt.

Viewings are from 7-9 PM on Tuesday, June 28th at Gonce’s Funeral Home 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena. On Wednesday, the procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM to go to St. Jane Frances Catholic Church, 8499 Virginia Avenue, Riviera Beach, MD 21122-3097, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, with Monsignor Carl Cummings officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Foundation http://www.arthritis.org/ , the Alzheimer's Foundation of America http://www.alzfdn.org/Donation-Page/donate-to-find-a-cure-for-alzheimers-disease.html#waystodonate or the American Heart Association at https://donate.americanheart.org/

Kathy and family I'm so sorry for your loss! You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers! Your mom is at peace now and no longer suffering. She is with your father and they are rejoicing being reunited again. 'When someone you love becomes a Memory That memory becomes a Treasure'. Prayers that God gives you the strength and will be beside you through this difficult time!
