James Paul "Jim" Harkum, age 74, a lifetime resident of Severna Park, died at Baltimore Washington Medical Center on October 18, 2015.
He was born on February 7, 1941, in Baltimore, to the late Cresenthia Teresa and Arthur Evans Harkum. After graduating from high school, he went to work as a salesman, and became self employed in the automotive industry. During his free time he enjoyed collecting coins, horse racing, and playing blackjack and roulette in Atlantic City.
Along with his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife Linda Lou Schooley Harkum; and three brothers: Joseph Arthur Harkum, Jerome Bernard Harkum, and Arthur Charles Harkum.
He is survived by his son James Brian Harkum, of Glen Burnie; his daughter Krista Elizabeth Harkum, of Severna Park; three grandchildren: Perry, Kelly, and Brendan Harkum; two sisters: Sandra Anderson, of Severna Park, and Chris Jones, of Ocean City; and his brother Paul Harkum, of Baltimore.
All are invited to his memorial visitation on Thursday from 4 to 6 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena. The memorial service will take place at 6 PM, with a wake to follow for family and friends. Feel free to express your condolences here as well.
