Catherine Dorothy Slater, age 97, a resident of Millington, MD for 10 years, and previously of Pasadena, died on September 29, 2015 after a lengthy illness.

She was born on October 6, 1917, in Baltimore, to the late Margaret and Edward Miller. After finishing school and becoming a wife and mother of 5, she went on to work, from 1958 until 1982, as the secretary for St. Jane Frances School and the bookkeeper for the Church. She was a long time member of the St. Jane Frances Senior Club, where she held positions of secretary and treasurer. She enjoyed reading, and loved to bake.

Along with her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years: Henry Walter Slater; three sisters: Dolores, Myrtle, and Elizabeth; and her #2 son Paul.

She is survived by three sons: Henry Slater, Jr. of Easton, Richard Slater of Pasadena, and Michael Slater of Pasadena; her daughter Margaret Celuska, of Millington, MD; her brother Edward, of Pasadena; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Monday 2 to 6 PM. The procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Tuesday to go to her Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Jane Frances Church. Her interment will follow in Maryland Veteran's Cemetery, Crownsville. To Henry, Richard, Michael, Margie and Family, Sue and I are out of town this week and wish to send our deepest sympathy to your family.
