George K. "Buck" Bailey, Jr., age 86, a resident of Bahama Beach, passed away on April 27, 2015 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Born on December 13, 1928, in Abingdon, Virginia, to the late Monnie and George Bailey, Sr, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving from 1946 to 1949. After the Navy, he went on to serve in the US Coast Guard as a Radar Specialist. He spent his entire life in the military service of his country. He enjoyed his time at the Coast Guard yard, and also enjoyed hunting and camping, and, of course, spending time with his great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Buck is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years: Betty Bailey, and his daughter Judy Brumfield.

He is survived by his daughter Rose Swan and her husband Michael; his granddaughter April DePetris and her husband Dom; great granddaughters Gabby and Cassie DePetris; his very dear friend Sandy Blood; and, from Australia, his brother Robert B. Bailey and nieces.

The family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. His funeral service will begin on Monday at 11 AM in the Chesapeake Christian Center, 206 Weston Woods Drive, Pasadena, with Pastor Thom Dawson officiating. His interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Feel free to express your condolences here as well.
