A member of the American Legion, he was also very active in the Boy Scouts, Troop 478, for more than 30 years. He enjoyed working on antique cars, especially Mustangs, did some woodworking, and loved gardening, and of course, spending time with his family.

Dear sweet uncle Eddie

I was deeply saddened to learn of your departure. At the same time, I'm bursting with happiness at the privilege of knowing you all my years. I sat through countless chats with you at many family occasions. Always waiting for that nugget of wisdom that I knew was coming. Sometimes you blessed me with your words and other times you'd shoot that "look" of yours my way. The one that said "Hey knucklehead, listen up cuz I luv ya." You always left me with a smile. I hope I did the same for you.

I knew I was doing right in life when you'd see my three boys and say I was doing ok. How could I not be proud to hear that from you based on the four kids you raised. I'm sure you are proud of the legacy you leave behind. An amazing wife whom you dearly loved, four wonderful kids and a boat load of grandkids and great grand kids. At the end of the journey we're all on, we can only hope to have left the world a better place than the way we found out. Money won't remember you, houses and stuff won't remember. People will. And it's those people who will be better off to have known you. Whether for a few years as a great grandkid would or 43 years for a chap like me or 63+ years for an angel like Aunt Helen. We all have unique memories of you that cover the gambit of life's emotions. As hard as it was to get you to speak your mind (hehe), I did listen. And those are the best memories I have of you.

So thanks for touching my life and making me a better man, a better husband and a better father. Every family needs patriarchs like you. Every family needs a great Baltimorean in the huddle. And that you were. Hardworking, big hearted, a bit crabby, totally loyal, never knocked down for too long and real.

Until we meet at the great picnic table in the sky. One covered tightly with the Baltimore Sun taped down at the corners. Slightly damp in the middle from the massive pile of steamed blue beauties. Basking in the spicy scent of Old Bay. We raise our mallets in honor of you.

I love and cherish you deeply.

James

My deepest sorrow on your loss. I always enjoyed talking history and politics with Mr Holub. For some reason, our minds always seemed to clicked together. I remember well our trip to the Air and Space museum at Dulles when he explained to my young son the development of some of the ordinance on exhibit because he had actually worked on it.

Dear Holub Family,

I am so very sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences at this time. In dealing with the loss of loved ones my family and I have found the promises found in the Bible at John 5:28,29 and Revelation 21:4 to be true sources of comfort. These scriptures show that in the very near future God is going to not only bring our dear loved ones back to life but he is going to eliminate all of the causes for why we deal with sorrow, pain and even death itself. It is my sincere hope that these promises will bring your family comfort at this time. Once again I am so sorry for your loss.

A long time friend

Dear Holub Family,
I am so glad to have known this man. We talked quite often about everything under the sun. I am so blessed to have spent time talking with Ed over the last two months of his life. I thank him for all the years we spent with Boy
scout Troop 478 and his help with my son on his trip to Eagle Scout. What a blessing to my son and my family. May you rest in peace. On my last visit to talk with Ed he said to me"Frank I pray that I just go to sleep and not wake up" Ed enjoy your rest until we meet again. I lost a great friend and I will miss him.
