Edward Joseph Holub, age 93, a resident of Pasadena for 57 years, and formerly of Curtis Bay, died on January 11, 2015 at his home.
He was born on December 12, 1921, in Curtis Bay, to the late Agnes and Edward Holub. A graduate of Poly Tech, class of 1935, he went on to attain his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Johns Hopkins in 1956. He worked for the Glen L. Martin company, and later, for Westinghouse until his retirement. From June of 1944 until March of 1946 he served in the US Navy as a troubleshooter for Navy aircraft. A member of the American Legion, he was also very active in the Boy Scouts, Troop 478, for more than 30 years. He enjoyed working on antique cars, especially Mustangs, did some woodworking, and loved gardening, and of course, spending time with his family.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years: Helen Holub; three sons: Edward Joseph Holub, II and his wife Charlene, Karl Holub and his wife Debbie, and Brian Holub and his wife Bette; his daughter Alicia Holub; seven grandchildren: Adria, Christopher and his wife Pam, Scott, Daniel, David, Jennifer, Kyle, and Carrie; four great grandsons: Benjamin, Wesley, R.J., and Mason, and many friends and family members.
Friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM and Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena. On Friday, the procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 AM to go to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 12 Noon in St. Jane Frances Church. His burial will follow, with military honors, in Glen Haven Memorial Park.
