Vito Charles Ernandis, "Vi" age 86, a resident of Pasadena for 63 years, and formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed on December 4, 2014 after a one year illness with cancer.
He was born on November 30, 1928, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Josephina and Joseph Ernandis. He served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1951 as a Corporal in the Army Cavalry, Company F, Third Armored Cavalry Regiment, Ft, George Meade, MD. After leaving the service, he worked for 20 years at Carroll Park Golf Course as a starter. Along with golf, he enjoyed the Orioles, Ravens, bowling, and of course, spending time with his grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Vito is preceded in death by his three brothers: Joseph A., Andrew, and John Ernandis.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years: Margie Ernandis; his son Joseph Vito Ernandis, Sr. and his wife Carolyn; his granddaughter Victoria; his two grandsons: Joseph Vito Ernandis, Jr. and Ryan Ernandis, all of Pasadena; his two sisters Lena Bellemente and her husband John, of Hicksville, NY, and Sister Eva Ernandis, of New York.
Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. His funeral service will begin on Monday at 11 AM at the funeral home, with his burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Feel free to express your condolences here as well.
