Jo Ann C. Snyder, age 71, a resident of Pasadena for 37 years, passed at her home on November 18, 2014 after an eleven month illness.

She was born on September 6, 1943, in Baltimore; to the late Anita Elizabeth and Charles Leo Gallion. After attending St. Paul's Business School, she went on to marry and become a professional Air Force wife of 22 years; mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker, and professional "owie healer". A long time member of St. Jane Frances Church, she served as Vice President of the Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of the Anne Arundel County Bee Keepers Association. She enjoyed gardening, porcelain doll making, custom cake designing, shopping, having lunch with friends, playing bingo, bowling, birdwatching and feeding, camping, cooking, going to church, and, of course, taking care of her family.

Jo Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years: Oliver H. Snyder, III; her three sons: Oliver H. Snyder, IV, of Pasadena, Charles E. Snyder, of Mt. Home, Idaho, and Phillip J. Snyder, of Pasadena; her daughter Toni J. Carter, of Glen Burnie; her two sisters: Anita "Cook" Kuhn, of Glen Burnie, and Louise M. Medicus, of Pasadena; her brother Charles L. Gallion, of Lake Ridge, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. The procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 AM to go to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated in St. Jane Frances Church at 10 AM, with Monsignor Carl Cummings officiating. Her burial will follow in Maryland Veteran's Cemetery, Crownsville. Feel free to express your condolences here as well.

Jo Ann was my older sister and I was extremely saddened by the news of her passing on Tuesday. This has been a very difficult year of pain and suffering for her. Mercifully, that pain and suffering is now over and she is now resting peacefully in the arms and the glory of the Lord. R.I.P. Jo Ann. Thank you for being there when I needed you and for showing me how to be a better person.

Sincerest condolences to her husband of 54 years, Ollie III and her children Oliver IV, Chuck and Toni as well as all of her grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this tremendously difficult time.

Condolences also to my other siblings Cookie and Louise in their time of grief. Think of the good and happy times we shared.

Please excuse a huge oversight on my part in listing Jo Ann's children. It should have said Oliver Snyder IV, Charles (Chuck/Tiny) Snyder, Phillip (PeeWee) Snyder, and Toni (Snyder) Carter.

My sincerest apologies for the oversight ... must have been an age related brain cramp.

Uncle Charles & Aunt Bernie (who had nothing to do with the mistake)

My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Snyder family. Jennie has been one of my daughter's best friends since second grade and a very special part of our lives. Although I did not know Jo-Ann well, I do know her son Ollie and grandchildren and I know how hard this must be for all of them. You all have lost a person that you adore and love. It is that love that will give you the strength that you need now. Love each other and live the lives that she would want you to and remember she will continue to look over you all. Much love, Kim Gillespie

We extend our deepest sympathy to Ollie and his family. Our families crossed paths often in the past, and always enjoyed the stories, old and new. Jo was a kind and fun person and we will all miss her.
