Raymond William Daehnke, 93, a fifty five year resident of Riviera Beach died on June 27, 2014 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born on December 30, 1920, in Baltimore, to the late William and Margaret Daehnke. He was married for 53 years to the late Helen E. Daehnke (nee Murphy). Their first son, Raymond W. Daehnke, Jr. passed away at age five.

Mr. Daehnke served in the US Navy during WWII at NAAS Whiting and Corry Fields in Pensacola, Florida. He retired from the US Post Office, Brooklyn Branch, as a letter carrier after 25 years of service. He was a member of the NALC Oriole Branch 176. He was a member of Washington Lodge No. 3 of the Masons, as well as the American Legion Post 277. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, woodworking, traveling and spending time with friends at the Riviera Beach McDonald's restaurant.

Mr. Daehnke is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Margaret E. and Edward J. St. Clair of Linthicum; his son Michael E. Daehnke and daughter-in-law Vickie of Pasadena; and his daughter and son-in-law Janet E. and Thomas X. Hammes of Virginia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Monday and Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM, followed by his interment in Glen Haven Memorial Park at 12 Noon. Feel free to express your condolences here as well.
