Francis Joseph LeVay, age 73, a resident of Pasadena, died on May 4, 2014 at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.

He was born on November 16, 1940, on Riverside Avenue in Baltimore, to the late Helen and Frank LeVay. His family moved to Pasadena when he was young and he attended Anne Arundel County schools. Francis retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1996 while serving in the U.S.C.G. Reserves, from which he retired after 35 years.

Francis loved to play and listen to most any kind of music; but was most passionate
about playing the organ for several churches - Saint Jane Frances, Saint Winceslaus,
and most recently for Faith United Methodist Church. He loved to travel and frequently attended concerts and shows with friends & family. Food-tasting was also one of his favorite past-times, and he was always present for the bull & oyster roasts and crab feasts at the Severna Park Elks Lodge. He also enjoyed attending the theater, watching movies, and reading. Francis was usually quite shy, but he never turned away from a lively political debate. His friends and family will remember him most as a truly devoted & faithful, loving & caring man.

He is survived by his nephew Jeffrey D. Cole and his wife Brenda of Severna Park, and their children Monica Bland, John T. Foster, IV, and Melinda Hardy; his niece Regina M. Lundquist and her husband Theodore of Limerick, PA, and their children Marilyn, Jordan, and Joseph "JT"; his nephew William F. VonProtz and his wife Amy of Goleta, CA, and their children Mia and Liam; his nephew Michael R. VonProtz and his wife Tracy of Lompoc, CA, and their children Gretchen, Michael, and Adler; and his two brothers in law: Jerome D. Cole and Francis X. Herold.

Friends are invited to visit on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena. His service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in Faith United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Taylor officiating, with his interment to follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery at 1 PM.
