Edwin Samuel Randolph Krell, age 87, a resident of Glen Burnie, died on May 3, 2014 at Easton Memorial Hospital.

He was born on September 6, 1926, in Baltimore, to the late Martha V. and Edwin S. Krell. A graduate of Francis Scott Key Jr. High School in 1941, he joined the Army in January of 1945, serving as a military police officer in the Philippines and during the Korean Conflict. In 1952 he married Mary Jacklyn Gunning, and fathered three sons. He worked as a longshoreman in Baltimore, until his retirement from the ILA. An avid outdoorsman, he particularly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crabbing.

Edwin is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years: Mary Jacklyn Krell, who passed in 2001; his son Joseph S. Krell; his brothers Charles and Melvin Krell; and his sister Henreata.

He is survived by his two sons: Edwin J. Krell and his wife Linda, and Charles Krell and his wife Elizabeth "Bunnie"; four grandchildren: Kerrie, Charles and his wife Lucy, Renea Hart and her husband Danny, and Edwin Krell; four great grandchildren: Hayley, Joe, Marcus, and Mack; and his sister Florence Kazmersky.

Funeral services will be held at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, P.A., 169 Riviera Dr, Pasadena, on Friday at 11 AM. His interment will follow, with military honors, in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Family requests friends visit on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home, and you may express your condolences here as well.
