Robert Kenneth Schmidt, age 46, a lifetime resident of Pasadena, died at his home on April 21, 2014 after a brief illness.

He was born on December 21, 1967, in Baltimore, to Dorothy and the late Louis Samuel Schmidt. After attending Northeast High School, he went to work for Smith Shipyard. During his free time he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, camping, and spending time with his nephew Brian Jr.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years: Tracy Schmidt; his mother Dorothy Schmidt, of Pasadena; two sisters: Deanna Casey, of Clearwater, Florida, and Melissa Schmidt, of Pasadena; his brother Brian Schmidt, of Pasadena; father and mother in law Melvin and Donna Cain, brother and sister in law Brian and Wendy Cain, all of Pasadena; and seven nieces and nephews: Marcelino Ferrer, III, Nicole and Alex Ferrer, Mikey Hannon, III, Caitlyn and Taylor Cain, and Brian Cain, Jr.

Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Saturday from 7 to 8 PM. His memorial service will be held immediately following at 8 PM, with Pastor Bob Stevens officiating. Feel free to express your condolences here as well.

tracy, my dear friend,my thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. please remember,robert is in a better place now. no more suffering. remember all the good times you shared with him. he will always be in your heart. it is never goodbye. it is until you meet again.
