Olivia Wendolyn Lewis, age 6, and Emma Sophia Lewis, age 3, residents of Lander, Wyoming for 4 years, died tragically on March 18, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near their home in Lander.

Born on October 14, 2007, in Maryland, Olivia was one of the sweetest, kindest people. She loved people, and made so many friends in her short life. She was very, very active, and loved dancing and drawing. She loved school and was just beginning to read and write; she loved reading with her mommy and daddy at night. Olivia will be greatly missed by all who knew her; she would have been a magnificent young lady.

Born on December 20, 2010, in Wyoming, Emma was a character: she had an intense sense of her individuality, and we loved her for that. She loved letters (she knew her whole alphabet by 2) and was trying to read even at three. She was a strong little girl who loved superheroes. She loved laughing and could continually get in and out of trouble as she saw fit. Emma will be greatly missed; we could not wait to see what a beautiful person she would be.

The two angels are survived by their dear sister Vivian; their loving parents Rebecca and Sean Lewis; their proud grandparents Claire and David Horvath, and Maureen and Gordon Lewis; and eight aunts and uncles: Eric, Noel, Faith, Paul, Nathan, Christopher, and Andrew Lewis, and Jennifer Wittich.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Jane Frances Church on Tuesday at 10 AM, with Monsignor Carl Cummings Officiating. Their burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family requests friends visit on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, 21122, and you may leave condolences here as well.

I only know your sweet faces from your loving Grandma Claire. Our family and friends have been praying our hearts out for your tragic loss. WE will be asking Olivia and Emma to pray for us and to play with our three babies in heaven. Not sure how God will use this, but I know God is going to continue to use your family to bring others closer to HIM.

We don't know each other but I heard of your recent loss and just wanted to express my deepest sorrow over this.
My husband and I (and our other three children) lost our daughter suddenly many years ago. Susie was seven. She was Allison's twin.
I know that right now, no words can be the right words to say to you.
I just want you to know that if you ever feel you would like to talk with someone who has experienced something similar (none can compare for you, I know), I am here and would welcome the e-mail or phone call. My home number is: 540 373 1077. Your family is in our prayers.

Dearest Sean and Becca,

Brendan and I are so very sorry for the loss of your two babies. Becca,
though we were never close at UD, I always felt closer to you after we both
became moms, always relating to and sharing in your Facebook stories of
parenting ups and downs. We wish you both and Vivian healing and grace,
strength from the Holy Spirit, and love from your UD family. You are constantly
in our prayers.

We are saddened by the loss of your dear girls. So many times we watched the 3 sisters playing together, and never an angry word among
them. They just loved to laugh and play together. It is good that your
family has such a strong religious faith to help you with your grief. Someone sent this poem to me when I lost a loved one, and I found the
words very comforting:

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"

"Gone where?"

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!" there are other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"

And that is dying.

Our hearts are saddened hearing of this tragic loss. Sitting in a meeting of The Compassionate Friends (TCF) in Chicago, I glanced at my email. Reading the notice of Olivia and Emma's death, I stopped the meeting to share. Everyone sitting around that table have lost children, siblings and grandchildren - that's what TCF is for - providing hope when the impossible happens.

Please know that thirteen people whose names you need not know stopped, cried and prayed for the family and these two precious angels. We dedicated the rest of our efforts to the family and Emma and Olivia. You are not alone now or in the harsh times to come. Our prayers continue.

Dear Becca and Sean,
My prayers join those of hundreds of your UD friends during this time of heart-wrenching grief. May Olivia and Emma, our new heavenly intercessors, help us all on this day marking Mary's heroic "Be it done to me according to your word," mysterious and challenging as that Word can be in this vale of tears.

Dear Sean and Becca,
Dane and I and Kalisi (we who are in Dallas) are praying for you, heartbroken at the news. I'll try to send more but it's so hard to write; Dane remembers the delightful girls when he visited you last October. God bless you, God bless you--the gift of them so lovely, the shock of their loss so stunning--so sudden. God knows what He's doing--clearly nothing in this bewildering world is outside His plan--and we can't know what he is doing, but only trust that He will take our pain and shape it into good. Prayers continue. The other Watermaidens will have just heard by now--they'll be praying too.

Bill and I are so very sorry for your loss. I recently re-read the wonderful little story "Heaven is for Real", and recall that little Colton was able to tell others, "Don't worry, the first person you're going to see in Heaven is Jesus". I truly believe your Emma and Olivia are with Jesus, and He is caring for them just as He is caring for you. Our prayers for your family during this time of great sadness.

I did not know Olivia personally, but I was so incredibly saddened to read of the death of someone so young and I wanted to express my deepest sympathy for your family. At times like this,I have personally found Jesus Christ's words at John 5:28,29 to be truly comforting. There he promised that "the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out...to a resurrection of life." I look forward to the time when I can see my loved ones again so much. Feel free to contact me at the attached email address and again I'm so sorry for your loss.
