John Joseph “Jack” Malehorn, age 59, passed away suddenly on Friday morning, March 14, 2013 at his home in Nashville, Georgia. He was born, the younger child of Frank and Mary Teresa (Brannan) Malehorn, in Baltimore, Maryland on July 10th 1954.

From a very early age he had a passion for team sports and reading.  He excelled academically throughout his years of education while attending Mount Saint Joseph High School, and received his higher education in Business Economics from University of Baltimore and Georgia State University, respectively. Family and friends will warmly remember his smile and sincere, caring nature. Through example he instilled in his children the importance of family, and shared with them his love and respect for animals. He loved meals with his family and to play a round of golf. He had an enthusiasm for business, which he passionately expressed through his teaching and writing. He was well known for his saying “go forth, do good, and know that someone cares” and he lived it daily. He did good, and he always made sure his family and friends knew that he cared.
He is the beloved son of Mary Teresa Malehorn, and is preceded in death by his father Joseph Frank Malehorn and brother Donald Malehorn. He was a loving father to his son Joshua and Kindal Malehorn of Hermosa, SD, daughter Sarah and Lucas Brooks of Valdosta, GA, daughter Katie and Thomas Griner of Athens, GA, and daughter Laura Beth Malehorn of Redfield, SD. He was an attentive grandfather to his grandsons Luke and Joey Brooks, and granddaughter Maelea Malehorn.

A burial service will be held at New Cathedral Cemetery, Baltimore, MD at 2 PM following a private family viewing at Gonce Funeral Home, Riviera Beach, MD. A memorial service and Mass in Nashville, GA, as well as for family in South Dakota will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to Queen of Peace Catholic Church new building fund PO Box 144 Adel, GA 31620 or The American Diabetes Association 1701 North Beauregard Street Alexandria, VA 22311.

For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is dying that we are born to eternal life.

What do we say about Jackie leaving us to early, only that he is Angel waiting for us all. Eddie has so many stories about Jackie, some he can tell and some he can not. He has raised a great bunch of kids and now they will raise theirs with the same morals ingrained in them. So sad, he will be heart breaking, soul scearching and empty filling in heart missed by so many people but most by family and friends.
Miss you Jackie
