Amanda Alafair Armbruster (nee Gawne), age 33, a resident of Pasadena for 15 years, and formerly of Denton, TX (1980-1990), Norman, OK (1990-1991), Parkville, MD (1991-1994), Pasadena, MD (1994-2001), Ft. Jackson, SC (2001), Pasadena, MD (2002-2008), Lakewood, CO (2008-2009), and Pasadena since 2010, died on February 8, 2014 at her home.

She was born on August 13, 1980, in Camp Pendleton, CA, to William and the late Paula Anne Gawne. After graduating from Chesapeake High School, she served in the US Army in 2001, and went on to continue her studies at TESST College of Technology in College Park, graduating in 2008. She held various secretarial jobs, and worked at the Maryland Renaissance Festival every year since 1996, except for the years she lived out of state. She was a devoted Wiccan, loving mother, wife, and daughter, and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her father William C. Gawne, of Pasadena; her sister Marianne Grace Brown, of Jessup; two daughters: Rhiannon Armbruster, of Santa Monica, CA, and Bethany Burcke, of Pasadena; her former husband Gregory Armbruster, of Santa Monica, CA; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

My heart goes out to all of the family, especially her children. There are no words that can offer comfort during a time such as this, but Amanda will forever live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

She was my birthday twin, and I know she will be with me every year to celebrate our day together.

Dear Bill, Marianne, and Family,
It is with heartfelt sorrow to learn of Amanda's passing. My heart goes out to each of you and I pray our Lord's comforting of your loss. Sometimes we do not understand, but our Lord does. He knew her pain and now, she is cured. I understand, fully, this loss as I, too, lost a daughter many years ago. My dear husband went on to Heaven eleven months ago. May God bless you and help all of you.

I can not express how my heart aches for you and your family Bill. I loved Amanda as a Sister and feel a piece of her presence here in Denton with me. I was looking forward to seeing you all and Rhiannon this spring. No person should have to bury their spouse and child within a few months of each other. Much Love to you Bill, I Pray for peace and healing for your heart.

I'm saddened by the news of Amanda's passing. My love goes out to her family. I just found out today, months later. I had spoken to her less than a month before she left. The last things we said to each other was, "love you and goodnight". Sweet dreams Amanda was what I said. How very sad. I was looking for her today at the renaissance festival and I was told she would not be here anymore. It was wind in my hair. Words I didn't want to make sense of. I used to babysit Rhiannon. Rhiannon, if you get this, please contact me.I would love to put you on my holiday card list to keep in touch, please.

It is difficult for me to say much of value. I believe I met Amanda couple times before my son, Dietzel died. I have been filled with anger and hatred but have come to realize I am not the only one to lose such a big piece of my life. I have only recently just started to reenter the world. I am sorry that this family have lost so many so quickly. I wish to express my sympathy and condolences.
