Joseph Ignatius Tarlton, Jr., age 90, a resident of Glen Burnie for 3 years, and formerly of Pasadena, died on July 1, 2013 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born on November 25, 1922, in Baltimore, to the late Laura and Joseph I. Tarlton, Sr. After high school, he joined the US Navy, serving in both WWII and Korea, aboard a minesweeper, the USS Endicott. He went on to start his own business, Tarlton Metal Products. A member of the VFW in Pasadena, he enjoyed metal detecting, making jewelry, and coin collecting.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years: Thelma Marie Tarlton; his brother and two sisters.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. His funeral service will commence on Friday at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Those who wish may contribute to the Wounded Warrior Project, or to any Veteran’s charity.
