Joseph Albert Shugh, age 80, a resident of Pasadena for 25 years, died of cancer on August 26, 2012 at the Tate Hospice House.

He was born on February 26, 1932, in Baltimore, to the late Anna and Norman Shugh. He attended Mount Saint Joseph High School, graduating in 1950, before going to work for Eastern Airlines. There he worked for over 30 years in various supervisory positions within the Operations department. A member of St. Jane Frances Church for over 50 years, he was an avid reader of books, newspapers, and magazines. He loved football and baseball, sitting by the water on beautiful days watching the boats, and spending time with his three children and six grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years: Sue Carol Shugh; and his two brothers James and Norman Shugh.

He is survived by his son Stephen J. Shugh, of Rixeyville, VA; two daughters: Catherine S. Williams, of Glen Burnie, and Barbara J. Fadeley, of Odenton; six grandchildren: Nicole Williams, Chelsea, Lauren, Megan, Ryan, and Joshua Fadeley; and his sister Rose Macknew.

The family invites friends to visit Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena. The procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 10 AM to proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jane Frances Church at 10:30 AM, with Monsignor Carl Cummings officiating. His burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park. Dear Barbara, Cathy, and Stephen,

I'm so very sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. It overwhelms me but delights me to recall my childhood since your family in almost every one of my memories.

Requiescat in pace, Mr. Shugh; may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
Mary
