Theresa M. Kirchner, age 87, a resident of Sykesville for six years, and previously of Sunset Beach, died of natural causes on August 22, 2012 at Fairhaven in Sykesville.

She was born on March 14, 1925, in Baltimore, to the late Mary R. and Louis C. Kirchner. After elementary school, she attended St. Elizabeth Commercial School, graduating with honors in 1941. For over 40 years she worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield, retiring after supervising three departments. Known for her infectious laugh, she travelled all over Europe, enjoyed shopping, taking photos and videos, caring for her mom, and spending time with her family.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Stanley W. Kirchner.

She is survived by her dear sister Mary L. Cadogan, of Sykesville; her nieces Lisa Miner and Terri Cadogan; nephew Steve Cadogan and his wife Barb, and many other nieces and nephews.

Family invites friends to visit on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena. The procession will leave the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Jane Frances Church, with Monsignor Carl Cummings officiating. Her burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Feel free to express your condolences here as well.

It saddened me when I heard “Aunt” Theresa had passed away. I understand how painful this must be for you, as you know I lost my mother in April.
Aunt Theresa will be remembered for her warmth and kindness to everyone she met. She always had a smile. She was very special. Please be comforted by the thought that many people hold fond memories of her. She touched all our lives.
