I REMEMBER WHEN....

Dear Jack,Darlene and David

I REMEMBER WHEN.....I was first introduced to your parents and beautiful home with an inground swimming pool @ 126 Shelly Dr up the from Heritage Hill where Darlene & John Grubb readily became our new first friends in Maryland.

I REMEBER WHEN....Johnny and Chuckie also became Patrick''s first new friend in Maryland as we floated back and forth to each other''s townhome, morning noon and night. We traveled to Canada fishing and played cards during the evening hours while the kids played happily. Weekends in the summer were spent enjoying Mrs. Goss''s backyard pool and birthday parties. Especially my 30th!!

I REMEMBER WHEN....John Grubb shared with us the sad news of Mr. Goss''s passing with a sudden heart attack. Somehow after that ,our laughter and giggles were never quite the same down the road. We all loved him so as our adopted dad too.

I REMEMBER WHEN....I invited Mrs.Goss down to dinner with David for steamed crabs along with some close neighbors thinking that the 12 large crabs that I bought at her Giant Deli would be one for all of us plus 2 left over. So much for living in Western Pa and wanting to fit in with a Maryland Summertime Meal !!

I REMEMBER WHEN... Mrs Goss''s claim to fame was her homemade lasagna that she somehow always seemed to have plenty of in her freezer ready-made to feed a crowd when we would stop in unexpectantly.

I REMEBER WHEN....Mrs.Goss had asked me to sell Grandma Diegel''s house up in Brooklyn Park. I had offered to help clean and freshen up the kitchen and lo and behold -- golly gee, I opened the lid on a soup pot in a metal cupboard and discovered $3000.00 in cash. What fun to deliver the bill of goods$$$

I REMEMBER WHEN....My parents even shared in a Christmas Eve at her home too as the grandkids were enjoying their toys and the adults were all in the vaulted living room so beautifully decorated. Of course we played pinoccle.

I REMEMBER WHEN....Mrs Goss taught me how to shop and select the choicest meats down around the bend where she was a household word in the meat department.

I REMEMBER WHEN....I introduced Arlene to Jack,by Darlene''s suggestion too,when he returned from the Eastern part of the world because he killed a camel{:>}

I REMEMBER WHEN....Mrs Goss,Darlene & David drove to Johnstown .PA to officially become related when jack and Arlene got married....

I REMEMBER WHEN.... JOHNNY & CHUCKIE got married and we all danced the chicken dance in a circle!

I REMEMBER WHEN....Mrs.Goss and I became closer as the years passed and I helped her move to her new townhouse near the water off Ft.Smallwood Rd.

I REMEMBER WHEN....Mrs. Goss retired and the good ''ole Giant was bought by a company from Holland.

I REMEBER WHEN.... I too began to recall all the good times, the changes life unfolded on all of us as the years have passed and quietly said to myself,

The pieces of God''s big puzzle never lead us where His Good Grace and Will do not follow...Indeed God has blessed me by growing old with Mrs. Goss.

Our love and prayers of peace and contentment with accepting the new normal physical loss of your mom. Our Mrs.Goss....Indeed her spirit will live on.
Sue and Patrick

Jack, Darlene and David,

I have been down in So.Carolina for over a week and not returning until after Labor Day due to Don''s son Justin having been called TDY with the Air Force. He is a single parent and we all have been pitching in as a family all summer.

When I return do not be surprised when you see a large pot of yellow mums with a yellow ribbon at your doorsteps. This more personal flower delivery made more comfortable sense to me. from the heart....Susie
