Helen C. Vermillion, age 80, a resident of Pasadena for 3 years, and formerly of Arnold, died of natural causes on February 1, 2012 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

She was born on April 25, 1931, in Elvaton, to the late Mary and Charles Katlic. After attending Glen Burnie High School, she worked for 30 years as a bookbinder for a printing company. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, and enjoyed game shows, crochet, dancing, and visiting the Amish farms.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 35 years: Russell Vermillion; her sister Elizabeth Welch, and her grandson Robert Rye.

She is survived by her two daughters: Betty Vermillion and David, of Pasadena, and Linda Amos and her husband Carl, of Ballard, West Virginia; three sisters: Marie Wallis, of Glen Burnie, Marge Lucas, of Pasadena, and Evelyn Lam, of Glen Burnie; two brothers: Jim Katlic, of Arnold, and Charles Katlic, of Texas; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, Severna Park. Family requests friends visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. You may also express your condolences on this website.

Reggie and I extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Helen. We have known Helen for about 10 years and were always impressed with her kind and gentle approach to people. She was a kind hearted person who enjoyed life to the fullest. We will miss her.
