Lawrence T. Sterling, Jr., age 82, a resident of Pasadena for 70 years, and previously of Baltimore, died on July 9, 2013 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after battling cancer for 5 years.
He was born on March 31, 1931, in Baltimore, to the late Mary and Lawrence T. Sterling, Sr. A graduate of Glen Burnie High School, he served as a firefighter, retiring from the Baltimore City Fire Department after 27 years. He enjoyed old cars, watching TV, and was a big fan of the Orioles and Ravens.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years: A. Marie “Ree Ree” Sterling; his son Mark K. Sterling, of Pasadena; his brother David Sterling, of Montana; and sister in law Sandy Desell, of Pasadena.
Family invites friends to a memorial gathering at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Monday from 3 to 7 PM. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday at Holy Cross Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute to the Maryland SPCA or to the Casey Cares Foundation for critically ill children.
