Robert Porter, a 54 year old resident of Trenton, MO passed away Thursday evening at his residence due to natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the First Christian Church of Trenton.  Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Gower, MO.  A scheduled visitation will be held from 7 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.

Mr. Porter was born on June 16, 1956 the son of Gean Paul and Dorothy Faye (Wilhoit) Porter.  He graduated from Trenton High School and the Trenton Junior College Construction Technology Program.  He was married to Cheryl King on April 22, 1978.  He owned and operated Porter Construction since 1978.  He was a member of the First Christian Church of Trenton.

Mr. Porter is survived by 2 daughters, Andrea McKown and her husband, Nathan of Excelsior Springs, MO and Lindsay Porter and her fiancee, Danny Stevens of Trenton, MO; his mother, Dorothy Porter of Trenton, MO; a brother, Paul Porter and his wife, Becky of Marshall, MO; and 2 grandchildren, Austin Stevens and Gabrielle McKown.

He was preceded in death by his father.

I am so sorry, Dorothy, that I won'' be able to attend Robert''s services. I don''t want to cause Becky and Paul the trouble of coming back to Marshall to get me. You and the girls have my heartfelt sympathy. Hope to see you soon

You are in my thoughts and prayers I am so sorry I was not able to be there. I was with Gerald in the hospital when I heard the news.
