Shirley Wise, a 75 year old resident of Leisure Lake area, died at 6:52 a.m., Thursday, May 05, 2011 at her son’s residence in Kirksville, MO.

Her body is being cremated under the direction of Whitaker Eads Funeral Home of Trenton, MO.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 6, Saturday at the Moberly Park Shelter House.  Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of North East Missouri.

Shirley Wise was born December 2, 1935 to William and Barbara Stokes Patchett in St. Louis, MO.  On July 31, 1955 she was united in marriage to John Wise in Chillicothe, MO.  They moved to Trenton in 1961 where they owned and operated John Wise and Associates Construction Company.  They lived in the Leisure Lake area for over 30 years where the also owned and operated The Outpost.

Surviving relatives include her son John Wise and his wife Marsha of Kirksville, MO, daughters Tammy Link and her husband Eric of Chillicothe, MO and Tina Kessler and her husband Kevin of Des Moines, IA, 3 brothers Jack Patchett of Colorado Springs, CO, James Patchett and his wife Nancy of Columbia, MO, Richard Patchett of Chillicothe, MO, a sister Phyllis Lawson and her husband Larry of St. Peter’s, MO, three grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Those preceding her in death include hr parents, husband, a daughter Barbara Wise, a brother William Patchett and sisters Jean Morlack and Virginia Smith.

John, Tammy and Tina~ so sorry to hear about your mother''s passing. I had no idea she had been sick. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Wish I would have been able to come to the Park on Saturday, but my son had Prom. Shirley was a wonderful woman who always had something nice to say to everyone!! I will truly miss her.
