Lois Jean Gannan, an 87 year old Chillicothe, MO resident, formerly of Gilman City, MO, passed away at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Indian Hills Retirement Village in Chillicothe, MO.

Funeral services are scheduled 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2017 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton.  Her body is to be cremated following services.  There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time Friday.  Memorial donations are to be made to the Gilman City Masonic Cemetery and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.

Lois Jean Gannan was born February 3, 1930 in Brimson, MO to Roy and Elizabeth (Davidson) Hobbs. She was baptized at a young age.  She graduated from Gilman City High School.  On August 19, 1950 she was united in marriage to Donald Lee Gannan in Independence, MO.  During the 1950’s through the 1970’s they owned and operated the Gilman City Locker Plant while also farming.  She then worked as a teachers aid, retiring in 2000.  After retiring, they moved to Cameron and then in 2006 they moved to Chillicothe.  Lois received an Associates of Art degree from North Central Missouri College in 1995.

Surviving relatives include daughter Sherry Monroe and husband Larry of Castle Rock, CO, son Tony Gannan and wife Janet of Chillicothe, 9 grandchildren Katherine Adams and husband Vernon, Katie Woodworth and husband Colin, Stephanie Tate and companion Ted, Josh Gannan and wife Kelly, Staci Tate, Cally Huddleston and husband Josh, Donald J. Gannan, Kyle J. Baker, Shelby Baker, and 11 great grandchildren.

Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, a daughter Jackie Gannan, and a sister Helen Sharp.
