Frances Mae Griffin, a 97 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 8:15 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton.  A visitation will be held from 7 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.  Open visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday.  Memorial donations are suggested to Grundy County Women’s Shelter and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.

Frances Mae (Call) Griffin was born July 9, 1920 near Edinburg, MO to Marion Ezra and Ola Agnes (Stevenson) Call.  She graduated with the class of 1938 at Trenton High School.  On December 25, 1938 she was united in marriage to Guy R. Griffin in Trenton.  They farmed in Grundy and Livingston Counties until his death January 8, 2001.  She was a member of the Hatton Chapel United Methodist Church as well as a member of Wright Memorial Hospital Auxilary, Grundy County Art Museum, Garden Club, Tops 506 Club, Live and Learn Neighborhood Club of Forks of the River Community, and the Red Hatters Club.

Surviving relatives include her daughters, Catherine Jones of Trenton and Anna (Rex) Barnett of Maryville, MO, son Herbert (Mary Lynn) Griffin of Gilman City, MO, grandchildren David (Shirley) Barnett, Daniel (Michelle) Barnett, Ethan (Amanda) Griffin, Heather (David) Whitaker, Garry (Juna) Jones, Sherry (Eddie) Koehnlein,12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons.

Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, brothers J.W. Call and Richard Call, sister Mildred Moore, and son-in-law Bob Horton and Derrill Jones.

I am so sad to hear about Mrs. Grfffin's passing. She had such a great sense of humor. When I saw her at an icecream social in 2008 she joked around and made me laugh a lot. The world is a bit sadderw with her passing.

It is too bad that I can not make it to the funeral but my home in Germany is just too far away.
