follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. A visitation is scheduled from 10:00 until service time Friday. Memorial donations are suggested to Dockery United Methodist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Marvin Ross Critten was born February 3, 1922 in Montrose, MO to James Carl and Laura Angeline (Watkins) Critten. He graduated with the class of 1940 from Jamesport High School and farmed around Jamesport for most of his life. On September 7, 1942 Marvin enlisted in the United States Army and received three bronze Stars for campaigns in Europe during WWII. On June 15, 1947 he was united in marriage to Willa Jean Stotts. The marriage ended in 1968 and he was remarried to Patricia Lucast in 1970. Patricia passed away due to an auto accident in 1990. On June 26, 1994 he remarried Willa Jean. She preceded him in death in 2003. Marvin was a member of Dockery United Methodist Church. He was an avid Golfer and loved hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, David Critten and wife Marian of Chillicothe, MO and Daniel Critten and wife Connie of Jamesport, MO; step children Julia Lucast Ray and Debbie Lucast of Southern Shores, NC, Ed Lucast and wife Lou of New Haven CT, and Bruce Lucast and wife Betty of Baltimore, MD, a brother, Deward “Dude” Critten and wife Marilyn of Trenton, MO; and a sister, Emily Alise Harrington of Jamesport, MO, brother-in-law Don Stotts of Trenton, four grandchildren Brian Critten, Todd Critten, April Critten Ranes and Keenan Critten, seven great grandchildren Tyler Critten Lee, Payton Ranes, Rian, Ross, Jeran, Hailey, Dani Critten. And one step-granddaughter, Jennifer Ray.
