Oliver Prewitt, a 74 year old Trenton resident, passed away early Friday morning, September 9, 2016 at the St Lukes Hospital on the Plaza in Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Shelburne Baptist Church. A family visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will be in the Shelburne Cemetery.
Oliver was born on February 12, 1942 in Trenton, MO the son of Loren and Marjorie (Boyle) Prewitt. He was married to Karen Goodrich on February 14, 1960 at Shelburne Baptist Church.  He was a member of the Shelburne Baptist Church for 64 years, serving on several committees of the church, including a past Sunday school teacher and youth leader. He served on the Peoples Coop and Public Water Boards. He built several houses for family and neighbors. His heart was into farming and mainly his livestock. The past year when he couldn’t get out much, he would look out the window at his fat cattle and watch them grow. The love of his life were his grandchildren, Jessica and Ray. He always took them to Pike’s Lake and kept them interested in their cows and calves.
Oliver is survived by his wife, Karen Prewitt of Trenton, MO; a son, Marty Prewitt and his wife, Julie of Bethany, MO; a daughter, Lisa Kincaid and her husband, Rob of Gladstone, MO; two grandchildren; Jessica Stonecypher and her husband, Jared of Kansas City, MO and Ray Kincaid and his wife, Ashley of Independence, MO; a sister in law, Donnzetta Prewitt of Trenton, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Prewitt.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shelburne Baptist Building Fund; they can be left at or mailed to Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home, 813 Custer, Trenton, MO 64683.

It will seem lonely going back into our family cemetery (Coy-Brummitt) and not seeing Oliver. The last time a terrible storm was about to happen and he knew I was there he drove back on his 4-wheeler to try and help me load up and get out! He always did drive back I really think he was just alittle worried about me and those mower's, but that was Oliver, always putting others first.42 Oliver and my older brother Duke Clark grew up together, the entire Clark family will miss Oliver greatly. And, each time as I travel past the his and Karen's house to the cemetery I will always have great memories. Karen I know this is a terrible time for you, but, God always has a plan. Love and prayers Jerry, Carolyn, Chad and Rachel
