Dorothy Sarah Roberts, 90 year old Trenton resident, passed away at 4:45 PM on Tuesday, June 02, 2015 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Gallatin, Missouri. A scheduled visitation is one hour prior to the service. Open visitation will begin Thursday morning at the funeral home. Memorials and contributions are suggested to help with funeral expenses and can be left with or mailed to Whitaker Eads Funeral Home, 813 Custer, Trenton, MO 64683.
Dorothy was born on January 17, 1925 in Cainsville, Missouri to Sam and Alta (Yarnall) McGill.  On January 1, 1952 she was united in marriage to Edward Clingan Roberts, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1986. She lived her entire life in Trenton. She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 37 years as a switchboard operator. Dorothy also raised pedigree poodles.
Dorothy loved to knitting, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She volunteered at the senior center and traveled with the OATS bus. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneer’s Organization and the OATS Bus Advisory Board.
She is survived by her daughters, Julia Ann Schroeder of Bowie, MD and Robyn J. Roberts of Bowie, MD; grandchildren, Ronda Schroeder of Independence, MO, Randy Schroeder and wife Marcia of Trenton, MO, and RyLee Roberts of Bowie, MD; great grandchildren, Terry Lohman of Alton, IL, Sarah, Becky, and Allison Schroeder of Trenton, MO; and great great grandchildren, Christian Claessen of Kansas City, MO, Destiny Stantruff of Alton, IL, Lyric and Lia Podhorn of Alton, IL, and Jaxon Schroeder of Trenton, MO.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Bobby Clingan Roberts; and a sister, Myrtle McGill.
