Jim, age 72 a resident of Winnetka, California, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at West Hills Hospital in West Hills, California. He attended Santa Monica City College and played tackle on the football team. Jim went on to become a police officer for the Inglewood Police Department in Inglewood, California.
Jim always put his family first. He loved camping in Mexico. He also loved the Galt/Osgood area of Missouri. He visited his parents there several times a year. Jim enjoyed hunting and farming with his dad and his mom's home cooking was close to his heart. He had numerous friends in the area and enjoyed visiting and helping whenever needed. His love of the area was passed along to his family in California. Jim will be missed greatly and always remembered.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Lisle, and her husband Milo Vaughs of San Diego, California; his son, Vaughn and wife, Jennifer, of Los Angeles, California; 3 grandchildren, Connor, Kyle and Rowan; his long-time companion, Linda Dixon, of Winnetka, California; and his sister, Sharon Douglas of El Dorado, California.

GRANDMA'S GARDEN TABLE BASKET was sent by Jan L. Weston.

Thinking of everyone. My mom, Jessie Mae, always looked forward to Jim's visit and going out to eat. He was very kind to her and I appreciate that. He came all the way from CA to attend her memorial service and it was a joy to see him and I know mom would have been honored. With love and prayers, Jan, Jessie's son.

Jim was a very dear and long time friend. Although I had not seen him in several years his sweet memories will be with me forever. I am very sorry for your families loss.

With Sympathy,

I went to school with Jim and both admired and trusted him. We graduated from Venice High together and kept in touch periodically. Just found out about his passing through the alumni association newsletter. My best regards and condolences to his family.
