Trenton resident Mary E. Applegate, 76 years old, passed away at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, MO. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2014 at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton, with visitation an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
Mrs. Applegate was born on February 22, 1938 to Harry and Agnes (Wilford) George. She graduated from Galt High School in 1955. On June 16, 1968, Mary was united in marriage to Donald Applegate in Galt, MO, until his death on May 16, 2011. Mrs. Applegate was a member of the Trenton First Christian Church. She liked to read and spend time and drink coffee with her friends at McDonald’s.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include a niece, Teresa and husband Gerald Olney of Chillicothe; nephew Gary Applegate of Kansas City, MO; great nieces Amy and husband Drew Dixon of Chillicothe, and Holly and husband Eric Stephens of Chillicothe; 2 great great nieces and 2 great great nephews; and several cousins living in Galt and Trenton.
