Mrs. Dortha Mae Propps, a 92 year old resident of Centerville, IA, passed away at 4:55AM Saturday July 31, 2010 at the Centerville Rehab and Nursing Home in Centerville, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt. Open visitation will begin after noon on Monday at the funeral home. There is no scheduled family visitation planned. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery at Harris, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Harris Cemetery and can be mailed to or left at the Payne Funeral Home at P.O.Box 37, Galt, MO 64641.
Mrs. Propps was born on December 27, 1917 in Grundy County, MO the daughter of Wesley and Josie Baugher Foster. On June 4, 1950 she was married to Clarence Howard Propps at Princeton, MO. They lived all their married lives in the Harris community. He preceded her dying in April 1986.
She had attended the Newtown Baptist Church and the Centerville Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Propps is survived by 4 daughters, Wanda Leck and Margaret Grimes both of Centerville, IA, Shirley Propps of Kansas City, MO and Mary Breeze of Breckenridge, MO; a sister, Fern Rogers of Milan, MO; 2 grandchildren, Melanie and Michael; 4 great-grandsons, Michael, Jesse, Luke and James and by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, 3 brothers, John Sanford, Vernie and Fred Foster and a stillborn sister, Helen Foster.
