Velda Van Arsdale a 75 year old Laredo, MO resident passed away Thursday morning, August 15, 2013 at the University Hospital and Clinic in Columbia, MO.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00p.m., Friday, August 23, 2013 at Payne Funeral Home of Galt, MO. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Laredo, MO. A visitation is scheduled from 7 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.
Velda Leah Van Arsdale was born April 18, 1938 in Humphreys, MO to Veldon and Deva (Price) Taylor. She was raised and graduated High School in Humphreys. On October 6, 1985 she was united to Harvey Van Arsdale. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1990. Mowing the grass was a favorite pastime as well as playing Bingo and making crafts. She was known well for calling into the radio birthday show regularly.
Surviving relatives include her daughters Debbie Riddle of Laredo, MO and Norma Lovell and Tim Hampton of Laredo, a brother Larry Taylor and his wife Ruth of Trenton, MO, and a sister Patty Hulse and her husband Max of Bates City, MO, Three grandchildren Shanna Lee of Knoxville, IA, Erin Johnson and Tom Hunter of Laredo, Mo., Seth Riddle of Laredo, Mo. Six great grandchildren, Preston, Blake and Abby Lee, Joely, Roman and Lindy Hunter of Laredo, Mo.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband and granddaughter Toshua.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. My friend "Ma" will be forever in my heart. She was a very strong and caring woman and a great role model for us "girls". I hope there is alot of grass to mow and bingo games going on in heaven. ♥
