Virgil Scheib, an 84 year old former resident of Rock Island, IL passed away Tuesday morning, May 7, 2013 at the Eastview Manor in Trenton, where he had resided for the past 6 weeks.
A visitation will be held from 7 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at DeRoo Funeral Home in Moline, IL, visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Mr. Scheib was born on March 11, 1929 in Nebraska City, NE the son of Anthony Martin and Frances Marie (Leiben) Scheib.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was married to Wanda Meeks on June 28, 1958 in Trenton; she preceded him in death in 2004. They lived all their married lives in Rock Island, IL. He was a truck driver, retiring in June 3, 1982 and has owned the “The Pink Poodle Salon” for over 50 years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 371.
He is survived by a sister, Erma May of Trenton, MO; a step son, Ronald Stottlemyre of South Carolina;  a step daughter, Rosalie Jordan of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Raymond Scheib and Eugene Scheib; and a sister, Louise Glynn.
