Keith Paul Smith a 74 year old Humphreys, MO resident, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012 due to a farming accident.

Funeral services will held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Payne Funeral Home of Galt.  Scheduled family visitation will be from 3 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Humphreys Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born on November 4, 1938 in Humphreys, MO the son of William Elsworth and Elma Marie (Taylor) Smith.  He graduated from Humphreys High School and was a life long farmer in the Humphreys community.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou DeWalt and her husband, Marc of Kansas City, KS; a son, Kenneth Smith and his wife, Cindy of Kansas City, MO; fiancée, Diane Collins of Milan, MO; 2 brothers, Archie Smith of Trenton, MO and Murl Smith of Humphreys, MO; 2 sisters, Myrtle Boram of Humphreys, MO and Ellen Couch of Milan, MO; a step son, Bryan Booth of Las Vegas, NV; a step daughter, Becky Zenter of Buffalo, WY; 2 granddaughters, Andrea Beth Smith and Laurie Ann Smith; and 2 great grandchildren, Jaykob Gary Stevens and Avery Rose Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, a son, Gary Dale Smith; brothers, Byron Smith, Gerald Smith, and Marvin Smith; sisters, Lela Downen, Mae McNanna, Ila Parrish, Betty Nida, and Edith Smith.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for funeral expenses.

Keith has worked with us in the USDA office in Milan on different programs. I have a lot of respect for Keith and how hard he could still work. I usually made some coffee when he came in and he really enjoyed that. He will be missed.
