Kenneth R. Sheppard, a 72 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 5:35 a.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Sunnyview Nursing Home where he has lived since 1978.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 24, 2012 at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home. Pastor Barry Boulware is to officiate. Private burial will be held later at Maple Grove Cemetery. Open visitation will begin at noon on Sunday at the funeral home.
Kenneth Sheppard was born September 23, 1939 in Trenton, MO to Alexander E. and Elizabeth F. Archer Sheppard. He lived his entire life in Trenton attending school until he suffered an injury as a young teen. In his early years he helped his father plaster walls as well as working at a gas station and help with a hot dog stand at fairs. In 1978 he was one of the original tenants of Sunnyview Nursing Home. From 1988 until earlier this year he worked with the Grundy County Learning Center where he made many lasting friendships. He enjoyed assembly work and shredding paper with a commercial shredder, but mostly he enjoyed his pay checks twice a month. His favorite question was always “when is payday. He was always willing to help if needed.
Kenny is survived by a sister Violet Sheppard of Chillicothe, MO.
