I was so sorry to hear about Angelee. I rode to church with her and Oral for years. I called them grandma and grandpa. She will be greatly missed. Her and grandpa are together again in a much better place then we are.

I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Angelee was such a friendly person and I enjoyed going to church with her and your dad for many years. She was always "a friendly smile in the aisle" when I shopped at Hy-Vee. Your parents were a very positive Christian influence on me as a young person. I know that you will all miss her so much. You and your families will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Ann and Earl Fruits

My thoughts and prayers are with Angelee's family at this time. She was my first and favorite Sunday School teacher. She was always there with a great smile as I was growing up and has always had a special place in my heart. Her love for God and people was always uplifting. God has gained a very special angel.

I just wanted you to know how much Angelee really meant to me. She is one of the faithful throughout our growing up years that taught us--in Sunday School and Bible School. I remember as a youth having a hayride out at their country home. She was still teaching Bible School at Edinburg when my children were young.
As I was leaving the funeral today, I just kept thinking of this song:

CHORUS
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

I think there are more people than we could ever imagine who had their life changed because of the teaching, kindnesses, and faithfulness of Angelee.

When I think of Angelee, I always see the smile she had for everyone. Whether it was at church or Hy-Vee, the genuine smile would warm your heart. Thoughts of a person who lived a Christmas life generate various memories.

I remember her carrying Karen as a baby into Edinburg. They always sit on the right-hand side of the church.

One of the best warm memories comes from when Oral & Angelee (and family) lived on the farm not to far from us. A school day that was semi-warm & bright for winter time in northern Missouri. I was a junior or senior in high school and our bus was a little one. The driver was in junior college and we the only "big kids" on the bus. The rest of the bus were "little kids" we picked up at Edinburg school.

That warm sunny morning disappeared and it started snowing. And moved from there into huge flakes that were mounting in depth. The driver asked if I was willing to leave before the school dismissed us. And that's what we did.

By the time we got to Edinburg school, the snow was getting deeper and deeper. We got all the children home except for Johnnie, me, and a little boy who lived not to much further from me.

Right at the turn into the Gibson farm, we slid off the road and into a culvert. You couldn't tell where roads stopped and began. None of us had show shoes, I was wearing black canvas Keds. So the driver stepped first keeping his tracks close together. He carried the youngest child. Johnnie went next and I followed.

By the time we walked the long lane to their house, we were ALL cold, pretty wet and Angelee had blankets and hot cocoa. And assured us all that we could stay as long as we needed to.

I remember my dad coming to get me & the youngest child on the John Deere tractor. And it was a cold ride home.

What a wonderful memory your parents provided to all of us growing up around them. Smiles, hugs, and cocoa. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Dear James, John & Karen,

Just think how happy Angelee is now--she can see Jesus and enjoy the beauty of Heaven along with many loved ones who preceded her.

We went to school together and then lived in an apartment together on Mable Streeet owned by Mrs. Breigel. We were both busy working and dating. Later she would bring me vegetables from the farm. One day she came to town & said you eiither take these beans or I will dump them on your porch.
Through the years we lived in different states but kept in touch.

In the last few months, I would phone her in her room but the other day when I phoned she wasn''t there so I have finally traced her down.

The last of April, we moved to Heatheridge Assisted Living in Tulsa.

You and many others have happy memories to cherish of your Mother and can look forward meeting her again walking on streets of gold.
