Raymond Scheib, an 86 year old Trenton, MO resident passed away at 9:12 PM Monday March 21, 2011 at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO, where he was surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at the Resthaven Mortuary at Trenton. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery located at Trenton. A scheduled family visitation will be held from 7 until 8 PM Thursday at the Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Memorials have been suggested to be given to either the North 65 Center or the Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Scheib was born on February 8, 1925 at Nebraska City, NE the son of Anthony Martin and Frances Louise Leiben Scheib. The family moved to Galt to make their home. Mr. Scheib moved to Kansas City where he was employed at the railroad. He was married to Norma Kephart on April 17, 1949. They moved to the Laredo area where he farmed, worked at the Swift and Company hatchery and for Skyview Farms before beginning employment with the Missouri Department of Transportation at Trenton. He retired from MODoT after 25 years of service. After retiring he enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels for the North 65 Center for several years.

He was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Eagles Lodge.

Mr. Scheib is survived by seven sons, Martin (Tammy) Scheib, Ernie (Becky) Scheib, Alva (Donna) Scheib, Norman “Burley” Scheib all of Trenton, MO, Wilbert Scheib of Laredo, MO, Gary (Sheila) Scheib and Larry (Sue) Scheib both of Chillicothe, MO; four daughters, Debbie (Gilbert) Danner of Chillicothe, MO, Joyce Sheppard and Gloria (Wayne) Miller both of Trenton, MO and Paula (Terry) Larson of Laredo, MO; a brother, Virgil Scheib of Rock Island, IL; a sister, Erma May of Trenton,. MO; 29 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Ann Scheib; 2 grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Scheib and a sister, Louise Glynn.
