Harold Kost, an 83 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 7:16 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.
A visitation will be held from 6pm to 7pm Saturday evening, December 9th, 2017 at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.  A family Celebration of Life is to be scheduled.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Grundy County Food Pantry and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Harold Grote Kost Jr. was born June 11, 1934 in Lincoln, NB to Harold Sr. and Elizabeth Louise (Williams) Kost.  Harold graduated from Boone High School and received an Associate Degree from Boone Jr. College, in Boone, Iowa.  On February 3, 1962 he was united in marriage to Judy McIntyre in Los Angeles, CA.  For over 16 years he was employed with Reynolds Metals in Kansas City, MO.  Harold stayed busy in the Grundy county community after his retirement, serving as a voting judge for 15 years, a trustee for Jefferson Township, as well as working with the Wright Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Grundy County Food Pantry.  He was an active member of St. Philip’s Church in Trenton serving as senior warden for 20 years.  He was also awarded the Bishop’s Shield for outstanding contributions to the church.
Surviving relatives include his wife Judith of the home; son Patrick Kost and his wife Catherine and their son Nicholas of Overland Park, KS; daughter Shawna Tucker and her husband Gary of Kansas City, MO; brother John Kost of Ames, IA, and nieces and nephews.
Those preceding him in death include his parents and a sister, Jean Kost.
