Jean Hamilton, 87, of Trenton, passed away at her home on Tuesday evening, February 3, 2015.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery near Modena, MO.  A visitation will be held from 7 until 8 Friday evening at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Hamilton Cemetery and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Gloria Jean Hamilton was born March 29, 1927 in Osgood, MO to George Archibald and Ina Ellen Meeker Hamilton.  She graduated from Galt High School.  On September 17, 1947 she was united in marriage to Basil Rex Hamilton Sr. in Olathe, KS.  Jean worked at Trenton Foods for 33 years as a lead person until her retirement.  Her family will always remember her as a loving mother and grandmother who loved to shop.  She was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and a past president of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter Roberta Patton and husband Melvin of Sebastian, FL; sons, John Hamilton of St. Charles, MO, David Hamilton and wife Anne of Kansas City, MO, Jim Hamilton and wife Sharon of Trenton, and Junior Hamilton and wife Denise of Tindall; sisters, Betty Ralls of Trenton, Sondra Boyd of Humphreys, Judy Shuler of Trenton, Bertie Wilson of Trenton, and Patty McLaughlin of Jamesport; brothers, Ronald Hamilton of Jamesport and Willard Hamilton of Laredo, 12 grandchildren and 22 great and great-great grandchildren.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, a son Jerry Hamilton, brothers Donald Hamilton and Jan Hamilton, sisters Janice Williams, Mary Lou Russell, and Nancy Carter, a daughter-in-law Penny Hamilton and a grandson Paul Baker.
